Leaving Puppies Alone? But For How, Long Is The Question

Adult dogs pee for about three to five times on a particular day. But the puppies need these breaks more than that of the adult dogs. A puppy can hold for a maximum period of three hours if it is about three months old. On the other hand, a puppy that is approximately 8-10 weeks old can hold for even less than one hour. For a 10-12 week old puppy, the holding capacity is about 2 hours. After six months, the puppy can hold up to a maximum of 6 hours. The time, however, will depend on the size of the puppy, the habits and the health of the puppy. It is not at all a good idea to make any dog hold the urine for a very long time. This might also lead to a urinary tract infection.

Here Are Some Details About Crate Training

Crate training is indeed essential, but it starts very slowly. It is imperative that you first create the crate with some treat for the dog. They should get some playtime in and also near the container. There should be intervals of about 10-15 minutes. You will have to stick to the puppies till the time they adjust to it. When your puppy can adapt to the shorter periods, then try to leave him for a more extended period. After this, you will find your dog also becoming quite comfortable in that particular space. But you should not keep the dog in the crate for an entire day.

So it is always a good idea for you to ask your family members to spend some time with them. You will have to understand that they are like kids and would not want to be left alone for a very long time.
